We're thrilled about your interest in our club and the opportunities it presents for your family and athletes. Our soccer approach integrates diverse skill training and competitive games, fostering individual growth and teamwork for ages U5-U16.
Our dedicated volunteer coaches are prepared to introduce your child to soccer, ensuring a fun and secure environment. Many participants in our recreational program start with minimal or no soccer experience, so there's no need to feel intimidated. We tailor our approach to their skill level, offering a positive program that facilitates learning and skill improvement.
Teams are organized based on the number of players in each age group, taking into account location, friend requests, and skill levels. Throughout the season, players may be repositioned at the coach's discretion.
Spring Season Registration opens on December 15 and will close on February 1 at 6 pm, or earlier if we reach capacity. Don’t wait—register soon to secure your spot. We’re excited for an amazing season ahead!

WUSC Development Center is an invite only, free program that runs during Spring and Fall Rec seasons. The program is for players ages 8U to U16 that are interested in participating or learning more about our select program. The program is directed by James Branch and other select coaches.
FAQS
When and where do you play games?
Most games will be played on Saturdays with occasional games on Thursdays & Fridays. Games will be played at Vulcan Soccer Complex in Lebanon.
When and where are practices?
Practice will either be at our Lebanon Location (806 Castle Heights Lebanon TN 37087) or Mt Juliet Location (97 Lorenzo Drive Mt Juliet TN 37122). This depends on what you select on your registration form. Practices typically occur once per week for about an hour, Monday-Friday, depending on which day the coach chooses. Some teams, typically older ones, choose to host an additional practice.
When will the team appear in the TeamSnap App?
You will see your player's team appear in TeamSnap the day before the Rec Kick-Off Event
When will I receive my player's jersey?
If you ordered one during your registration, you will pick it up from your coach at the rec kick-off event. Please see the calendar for those dates.
Can I pay in cash or check?
Yes, only at our in-person registration events. Please see the calendar for those dates.
Is there a discount for multiple children in the same family?
If you have 3 or more siblings registering for youth soccer each player’s registration fee will be $20 off.
Are there any scholarships available for those who can’t afford the registration fees?
Yes, the Board of Directors provides for a limited number of scholarships each season for those who find themselves in financial difficulties. Applicants should contact the league to discuss their proof of financial hardship. The Board will verify the information and make a decision on the request. If approved, the applicant must agree to work at the fields (in areas such as concessions, field clean up, field maintenance, etc.) a specified number of hours.
What equipment am I responsible for providing?
You will need to provide the following items for your player(s):
Soccer cleats (no toe cleat – such as what is found on baseball and football cleats)
Shin guards
Black soccer shorts
Black soccer socks
Soccer ball. Soccer ball size is based on the player’s age group:
U4-U8 use a size 3 ball
U9-U11 use a size 4 ball
U12 and up use a size 5 ball
You will also need to provide rides to practices and games. Please remember to bring your child something to drink at each practice and game. The concession stand will be open on Saturdays and will have drinks for sale. Lastly, you will need to provide love, support and a positive attitude for your soccer star!
Can I request a specific coach?
We have decided to not allow for requests anymore. This has caused many unbalanced teams and at times this has not been for the best interest of the players.
How do I know if my child is too young or too old to play? In what age division would my child play?
See the above age groups for this season. Playing up in the next league level is allowed but will be very limited. All play-up requests will be reviewed by the Director of Coaching and Soccer Ops. Playing down in a younger league is allowed only for medical reasons, and requires a doctor’s letter, and the approval of the Registration Manager. Wilson United SC will combine age groups to accommodate team sizes and coaching.
Can I request that my child be placed on the same team as another player?
We do our best to accommodate friend requests.
When will I hear from a coach to know when my child has practice?
You will meet your coach at our Rec Club Kick Off meeting and on the TeamSnap App
Can I request that my child be placed on a team that practices on a specific day?
No, instead we let you communicate a day that you cannot practice. We will try to accommodate that request. As for practice, most teams practice once or twice during the week and we ask that they be after 5pm. Practices are held in Mt Juliet and Lebanon. Your coach will decide on practice days and time.

Are the teams co-ed, or are there all girls teams and all boys teams?
Our teams are separated into girls and boys. Our U04C only is COED.
The registration form includes a section about volunteering. Do I *have to* volunteer?
Wilson United Soccer Club would like parents to strongly consider volunteering to help out. Because Wilson United Soccer Club (Rec) is an all-volunteer organization (there are no paid positions on the Board), volunteers are absolutely vital to the success and growth of Wilson United Soccer. It also doesn’t matter how old you are: we have volunteers as young as seven years old as well as grandparents helping on game days, collecting trash, field setup and take down, bathroom supply maintenance, registration, etc.
What is the cancellation/refund policy?
No refunds will be granted to those who break the rules or the policies of Wilson United SC. Refunds are usually processed within a few weeks after the season begins. Refunds will be allowed up until the beginning of the rec season.
What happens if it rains on a practice or game day?
We don’t let a little rain keep us from playing soccer. We will only cancel games in the event of a thunderstorm or if there is standing water on the fields. We also do not cancel games due to cold weather. If it’s cold outside, players are encouraged to wear sweatpants, a sweatshirt or jacket (MUST be worn under their soccer jersey), and even a hat and gloves. The Field Commissioner Team will make the decision to cancel games due to weather. If the decision is made to cancel games, we will post a notice on the front page of our website, Facebook, and send out a text message to the league so that we can provide as much notice as possible to all of our coaches, referees, players, and their families. Every attempt is made to have the decision made and the notices out by 7:00 am on practice and game mornings. If the weather is questionable and you don’t see a notice on the web site, assume that all practices and games will be played as scheduled.
This is my first exposure to soccer – what are the rules?
Wilson United follows rules of FIFA and modifies them for our various age groups.
Is there any type of screening process for coaches?
Yes, the Tennessee State Soccer Association requires a background check, Safe Sport, and concussion protocol.
